The relationship between Catherine, Heathcliff, and Edgar resulted in a wedding. The desire for social acceptance and high position was the driving force behind it. Catherine believed that Heathcliff could not sufficiently meet her financial demands, thus she married Edgar Linton. He is polite, happy, and affluent, much like Heathcliff’s opposite number. In the book, he is opposed to his name’s meaning: an “enemy”.

Edgar Linton was a lovely, pale young man with golden hair and delicate features. Edgar was the polar opposite of Heathcliff in terms of mood and appearance. The personality had an air of sophistication about him. Isabella, his sister, lived at Thrushcross Grange with her brother Edgar.

This mansion is where Edgar and Catherine first met one another. When Linton’s dog attacked her, she was still a child. The incident compelled her to stay with the Lintons for five weeks until she recovered. Catherine became fond of polite behavior and high-quality goods during this period. She used to be wild, and the change in her personality caused their relationship to fall apart.

Catherine and Edgar’s marriage was successful in several respects. She had some feelings for her spouse. But no love could ever compare to the memory of her first love. After all, he used to be her soulmate. Edgar Catherine’s death afflicted him on two fronts. First, he was devastated by the loss of his wife. Second, he was furious that she never mentioned him as she died.

However, Edgar’s gentleness, devotion, and goodness did not guarantee him joy. When the figure was dying of sickness, Heathcliff carried out his revenge plot. He kidnapped Edgar’s daughter, sister, and property at Thrushcross Grange.

In Wuthering Heights, Edgar Linton is a major figure. He is the brother of Isabella Linton, the spouse of Catherine Earnshaw, and the father of Cathy Linton. He’s a wealthy, aristocratic guy who falls in love with and marries Catherine but continues to resist Heathcliff and ends up falling into his grasp for revenge.
