It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is an American comedy television series created by Rob McElhenney, who also stars alongside Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito. It debuted on FX on August 4, 2005, and moved to FXX for the ninth season beginning in 2013. McElhenney, Howerton, Day, Day, and Olson star as The Gang, a collection of narcissistic pals who operate Paddy's Pub in South Philadelphia.

In November 2019, the series' 14th season came to an end. The series was picked up for a 15th season in May 2020, and after it aired, it became the show with the most seasons among American live-action comedies. The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet ran for 14 seasons between 1952 and 1966, but after being replaced by Modern Family in 2009, it only managed 13 episodes before its cancellation. In December 2020, Fox renewed the series for four more seasons total, bringing it to 18 years (excluding breaks). On December 1st 2021, the fifteenth season premiered on Fox.
