I'm not sure if I am shallow or not. I know I like to be around good-looking people, but does that make me shallow? Maybe it's just a preference. I don't know. What do you think? Is there such a thing as "shallow" when it comes to attraction?
You know the type. They're usually found on social media and always seem to pop up when you procrastinate. "What kind of ___ are you?" or "How well do you know _____?" And while most people just scroll past them, some of us can't help but click. We just have to know if we're right.
These quizzes can be addicting, and before you know it, you've wasted an hour of your life that you'll never get back. But why do we do it? Why are we so drawn to these pointless quizzes?
There are a few reasons, actually. For one, they give us a sense of accomplishment. We can feel good about ourselves when we get a high score or find out that we're the type of person we thought we were.
They also give us a sense of belonging. When we see that we have something in common with someone else, it makes us feel connected to them. And finally, they're just plain fun. They're a way to kill some time and take our minds off of whatever is stressing us out at the moment.
